2009 PARS FOR PAWS
4TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
September 12, 2009

The Tuolumne and Calaveras County Humane Societies celebrate a fun day of golf and a wonderful dinner

September 12 was a perfect day for golf, good food, companionship and supporting a common cause at the Saddle Creek Golf Resort in Copperopolis.

A huge group of golfers — from duffers to those who really know how to play — participated in helping the two neighboring Humane Societies continue to help homeless animals.

Although the day started somewhat ominously with what seemed would be a major rain storm giving event coordinators Stacey Stowe and Casie Juchetta a little bit of a scare, the skies cleared just in time for the first tee-off. After that, it was one group after another taking to the links for a day of either battling to make par or trying to find that errant ball or two. Yummy sandwiches and wine tasting were provided out on the course to the golfers by Hole Sponsors Big Dick's Dry Rub, Ironstone's Dog Tail Vineyards and Twisted Oak Winery. Regardless of the level of play, a great time was had by all, with the animals reaping the benefits of the greens fees as well as the sale of raffle tickets and silent auction items.

There was uplifting participation among the volunteers of both societies who made the day run seamlessly. We — both Tuolumne and Calaveras — want to thank everybody who participated as a player, a diner, a supporter and a volunteer.
